Dr. Badrul H. Khan is a world-renowned speaker, author, educator, and consultant in the field of eLearning. Professor Khan has the credit of first coining the phrase Web-Instruction and popularising the concept through his 1997 best-selling Web-Based Instruction book, which paved the way for the new field of eLearning, and the book has been adopted by more than 350 colleges and universities worldwide. Recognised as the founder of modern eLearning by 2014 NATO eLearning forum, Dr. Khan has been honored with many awards and worldwide acclamation throughout his career. In recognition of his unique contribution to the field of eLearning coupled with his services to worldwide eLearning communities, Egyptian E-Learning University Council on August 13, 2012 appointed Dr. Badrul Khan as an honorary Distinguished Professor of eLearning. In 2015, Professor Khan was inducted into the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Hall of Fame. He is recognized as one of the Leaders in Open and Distance Education in North America. He is considered as one of the most influential scholars in the eLearning field for his creation of “A Framework for E-learning” (popularly known as “Khan’s E-learning Framework”), which is used by researchers and practitioners worldwide as one the most valid framework models to research, design, evaluate and implement online and blended-learning. He is the host of KDW TV show on FOX 5 PLUS WDCA in the USA by Global Television Network.

He successfully founded the Educational Technology Leadership graduate cohort program at the George Washington University and the Educational Technology graduate program at the University of Texas at Brownsville. He served as contributing and consulting editor of nine prestigious international educational technology journals & magazines. He is the founder of McWeadon Education, a professional development institution in the USA, and of GyanBahan.com. He received a B.A. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA.
